On May 5th we (my bf and I) got a new kitten. We adopted her from the Toronto Humane Society, she was part of a litter of three. She is a scrawny, squirmy little tortoise shell cat named Bowie. Yes she is named after David Bowie and she is nearly seven-months-old. I know, awesome right?
Bowie had to be introduced to our other cat, six-year-old McCoy, who I’ve had since 2009, and who has lived in lots of houses with lots of pets (I’ve moved a lot). However, McCoy had been on his own for more than half his life. Fortunately, the cats started getting along after only three days. We gave Bowie our bedroom as her sanctuary, and gave McCoy a towel that she slept on to get used to her smell.
McCoy objected to her existence for the first few hours after they met, but after the initial shock wore off they became best friends. McCoy’s been noticeably calmer since Bowie came into his life. Which is fortunate because she literally does not sit still. She plays, runs, and jumps, ALL DAY. It’s glorious.
You can follow the cuteness of my cats on Instagram. I’m a dork so they each have their own custom hashtags, #LittleBowieCat and #McCoyCat with #BowieAndMcCoy reserved for adorable pics of the two of them. Below are some highlights of the last six weeks. Enjoy!
This post has illegal amounts of cuteness! Thanks for sharing!
